Reviews In A Pinch

When You Just Need an honest review in a pinch.

Tangled (Rated PG)

Starring:  Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy

Directed by:  Nathan Greno and Byron Howard

Synopsis:  When the kingdom’s most wanted – and most charming – bandit Flynn Rider hides in a mysterious tower, the last thing he expects to find is Rapunzel, a spirited teen with an unlikely superpower – 70 feet of magical golden hair!  Together, the unlikely duo set off on a fantastic journey filled with surprising heroes, laughter and suspense.

My Thoughts:  Fairy tales and animation combined into a modern version?  Oh my lanta!  This is right up my alley.  This was a very different take on Rapunzel’s tale and I thought it was creative.  Flynn Rider, kingdom’s most wanted bandit, was introduced and he was a perfect addition.  It didn’t hurt that we got to see plenty of smickers in Rapunzel’s direction.  The storyline was creative, the characters lovable and the songs were as catchy as you would expect in a movie like this.  The humorous additions, both for kids and for adults were quite clever.  I realize that some people won’t like this movie because Mandy Moore is the voice of Rapunzel and they think her voice is grating, at best.  For everyone else, I’d recommend Tangled.  Besides, it makes a perfect family night movie!
