A Villian’s Fate
by Lola James
Overview (from B&N.com): Does good always prevail over evil? What happens when the villain triumphs? You have A Villain’s Fate. This is a short (prequel) that can be read before or after Fate’s Design.
My Thoughts: Vampires. One of the most popular literary (and cinematic) villains. Makes sense given what they can do to a victim before the victim even realizes they’re there. I admit, I like them better when they actually play the villain.
The overall writing was pretty good. It’s written from the villain’s point of view, which is an interesting take. The main villain of the story was strangely likable.
A Villain’s Fate is a short story that can be read as a prequel to Fate’s Design or afterwards. I read it as a prequel and was a bit confused. I assume that if you read Fate’s Design things fall into place. It did have a nice introduction to characters and a nice revenge plot.
In the end, this did not peak my interest enough to start reading Fate’s Design. I would not recommend A Villain’s Fate, unless you’ve already read Fate’s Design and liked it.
2 out of 5 Bookmarks = This did not make me want to read the full novel, Fate’s Design.
